There are two places one can typically find Minako: napping in bed, or with the horses at the stable holding a brush in hand.
Minato's already checked the stables. Ingrid and Marianne were there, and they confirm Minako hasn't dropped by that afternoon. If that's the case, it stands to reason that she's probably curled up in their room to nap the day away. So he heads there, apparently oblivious to the way their gazes landed on what was clutched din his hands, and oblivious, still, to the perplexed look exchanged by his two classmates.
He heads back to the dorms, fishing pole still in hand. He'd spent his afternoon with the Professor thanks to their mutual love of fishing. Unfortunately for them, the fish seemed to completely ignore their bait and opted to gnaw away at Minato's hook instead. The spoils of his afternoon activity dangle from the line, a large bullhead that could easily feed a small gathering of four.
By which that means it was just enough for the Arisatos.
Minato knocks twice on the door before pausing to listen for noise.
"Minako? Minako, wake up..."
It's not as if he actually needs his sister to open the door, not when he has a key of his own. But even now, that room still feels as though it's a room for one. Technically it is; Minato had been a late addition to their year's roster, a near afterthought given that the Arisato house initially decided to pour their resources into the crest-bearing twin. Ultimately, they'd decided to send Minato off to the Officers Academy as well, in case the elders decided birth order should determine who would oversee the affairs of their house. It's never bothered Minato though, the fact that his sister would be celebrated in ways that he would not. He's always understood. He's always been proud of her.
Minato knocks again. He'll keep knocking until she opens the door.
Difficulty staying awake for a full day is not a new thing for the younger Arisato twin. Ever since arriving at the Academy, though, she has been able to indulge that particular temptation more readily, and she embraces it. She naps like she has a sleep debt of decades, despite only being sixteen. Despite already being a little famous for her heavy sleeps and frequent naps.
Byleth is thankfully an indulgent guardian, and as long as Minako's performance and grades don't slip (they never do) Byleth doesn't really care. So the sleepy young girl often finds herself back in bed after midday, or sometimes lain out on a blanket on the lawn. There's a boy from the black eagles class who sometimes will greet her before they both bundle up under their separate shade trees. It's kind of nice to not be the only narcoleptic at the school.
If there's anything in the world that get her back out of bed, though, it would be Minato. She's worked hard their whole lives to make sure he wasn't ever far from her side. That's her best friend, the other half of her soul. She doesn't feel like a complete person, without him around.
When it seemed likely that she would be sent to the Officer's Academy alone, she put in some serious work to convince their guardians to enroll Minato as well. Distant family members who had provided shelter and care for the siblings since their parents' early deaths. None of them were ever very emotionally available or nurturing, and Minako felt no remorse in manipulating them. In threatening in the kindest, sweetest, least implicating way to throw her enrollment and sabotage everything if she wasn't allowed to keep her twin with her.
And so they arrived together, a last minute change that meant the Academy was over-enrolled. That suits Minako just fine. Maybe for some siblings, having to share the tiny dormitory bedroom would be terrible, but they make it work. She wakes a little at the first knock, mumbling and moving just a little. Starting to process.
Noise. Knocking. Voice? Nii-san. Silly boy, he can just come in...
He knocks again. She mumbles and sits upright.
"What is it?" Her muzzy voice carries through the door.
The knocking stops as Minato hovers on the other side of the door. Minako sounds half asleep, which probably means she won't be getting the door for him. That suits Minato just fine. She'll have to get out of bed eventually, given what he intends to ask her. So he digs into his pocket, fishing about until his fingertips brush against the smooth surface of a key.
He sets to unlocking the door before depositing the key back into his pocket, reaching out for the doorknob now to push the door open. It creaks a bit on its hinges as Minato opens it just wide enough to stick his head into the room. There's Minako, sitting up in bed, bangs out of place and looking half awake. Minato wanders over to her and hovers next to the bed, fishing pole and freshly-caught fish still in hand. He holds it up and presents to her a fish the size of his arm.
"I caught a fish."
For us, is the tacit implication, because of course he intended to share what he'd caught with her. They shared everything.
Minato cants his head a bit at Minako. Maybe she's not in the mood for a meal if she'd just woken up but -- no, both of the Arisato twins have garnered quite the reputation for their voracious appetites.
"Are you hungry? I caught a bullhead, so... we can make swift fish gratin."
She slowly swings her legs over the side of the bed as the door opens, her mouth open in a wide yawn as light streams in the door around the silhouette of her twin. She smells the pond on him immediately, the distinct scent of fish coming in with him and betraying his surprise even before he gets the chance to announce it and hold it out for inspection.
"Woaaaahhhh nii-san, that's a good one." Her voice is still sleepy, but her enthusiasm is genuine, and she blinks up at him with a big grin. This was absolutely worth waking her up!
She hums and reaches for a brush to tame her hair from it's sleep tangles before tying it up. "If we go soon, we can get there before dinner duty cooking happens." This, apparently, is enough motivation to get the muzziness away. She slips her school jacket back on and steps into her boots.
